Jeffrey Levitt
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
As the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and Founder of Precyse, the leading national provider of Health Information Management (HIM) services and technologies, delivering the most advanced HIM platform available today, Jeffrey Levitt sets the strategic direction for the company and oversees worldwide operations. With more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Mr. Levitt's leadership capabilities and business expertise are broadly acknowledged in the marketplace. Under Levitt's leadership, facilitating the transition, implementation and management of health information systems that support an effective and efficient healthcare system and maintain health data integrity is the top priority for Precyse.
In 1999, Mr. Levitt founded Precyse (then-named Capital MT) to explore solutions whereby technologies such as the Internet and automated speech recognition (ASR) could fundamentally change the way healthcare providers document their work. Since this time, Mr. Levitt has grown the company through acquisition and organic development and built the leading source for the most comprehensive suite of services and technologies in the HIM industry.
Previously, Mr. Levitt built four other companies in the healthcare sector through acquisition and roll-ups, including Johnson Rents, a regional durable medical equipment company; Foster Medical Corporation, a merger of multiple durable medical equipment organizations; Heritage Health Systems, Inc., a health maintenance organization formed by the integration of multiple HMOs; and Orthopedic Services, Inc., an artificial limb and brace provider. In addition, Mr. Levitt was a founding director of NovaCare, an entity comprised of physical therapy and speech therapy providers to the long-term care industry. Orthopedic Services was sold to NovaCare in 1992, and Mr. Levitt remained with NovaCare until 1994, at which time he became a private investor.
A graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Levitt holds a B.S. degree in Economics and later obtained a law degree from Villanova University. He is both an attorney and CPA.
Chris Powell
President
As President, Chris Powell is responsible for the overall day-to-day operational performance and leadership of Precyse, including implementing strategic operational plans to advance the company's mission and financial and non-financial objectives. He is also responsible for operations, service delivery, sales, marketing, finance and information technology and is a member of the organization's Executive Council. Reporting to Precyse Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and founder Jeffrey Levitt, Mr. Powell will lead the efforts to evolve the company along the path to a sophisticated technology-enhanced services model, including focus on product development and commercialization, and engagement in merger and acquisition and channel partnership opportunities as they arise.
Previously, Mr. Powell worked for GE Healthcare as Vice President and General Manager of GE Healthcare Americas Commercial Healthcare IT business including the US, Canada, Central and South America. Prior to GE, he worked at IDX Systems Corporation, which was then acquired by GE Healthcare in 2006. During his 14-year tenure with IDX, Mr. Powell served various senior leadership roles. Prior to IDX, he started his career as a Sales Representative at IBM Corporation, where he worked for five years.
A graduate of Colby College in Waterville, Maine, Mr. Powell holds a B.S. degree in Psychology.
Pamela Goans
Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President
In her role as Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President, Pamela Goans brings more than 25 years of progressive experience in the health care industry to Precyse. Goans oversees Business Development and Operations for all of Precyse's technology and service offerings. She led the integration of the Precyse HIM and Transcription businesses under one operating model, while growing company profit and improving overall profitability. Demonstrating success achieved through the merging clinical knowledge with strategic business and leadership capabilities, Goans has forged quality, lasting relationships with hospitals and partners to deliver unparalleled client retention for Precyse. Today, Precyse has enabled more than 850 hospitals and health systems to improve efficiency and deliver tangible outcomes through its advanced proprietary software and services.
Earlier in her tenure at Precyse, as Vice President of the Transcription business, Goans was responsible for leading the national launch of this start-up business. Under her leadership, Precyse Transcription business rapidly grew, securing new client contracts and improving employee retention. Additionally, Goans spearheaded the successful launch and managed Precyse's overseas transcription operation.
At the outset of her career in healthcare, Goans' education and clinical background in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, led her to Vanderbilt University Hospital where she served as Staff Physical Therapist, then Rehab Unit Supervisor. She then transitioned to NovaCare, Inc. where she continued with the clinical practice of Physical Therapy in the capacity of PT Supervisor. Her leadership ability, clinical knowledge and business savvy provided the foundation for career advancement during her 12 years at NovaCare, leading to regional management roles. Prior to joining Precyse, Goans was Region Vice President for the Physical Rehabilitation Occupational Health Division of NovaCare where she was responsible for the oversight and growth of Physical Rehabilitation and Occupational Health clinics in the Southeast Region with $50 million in net revenue. In this capacity Goans successfully led a team of twelve directors and delivered reduced cost of sales and improved gross profit margin for the region.
Ms. Goans holds a BS in Physical Therapy from University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences. She is a member of American College of Healthcare Executives, American Physical Therapy Association, National Women's Healthcare Association, Healthcare Financial Management Association and the Georgia Physical Therapy Association, where she served as Region District Director. Goans is a member of Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and is NDT Certified.
Ken Lacy
President and General Manager, Precyse Advanced Technologies
As the President and General Manager, Precyse Advanced Technologies, Ken Lacy is responsible for setting the technology direction for the company's product offerings and internal systems and oversees the development, implementation and customer support teams. Mr. Lacy is committed to finding innovative ways to improve productivity, quality and accuracy, streamline processes and increase revenue for our hospital and physician practice clients. At Precyse he has led the development of precyseCode, the most advanced health information management platform available today, breaking through the clutter of antiquated processes to streamline and modernize the information management workflow.
Mr. Lacy has more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare information services industry. He joined Precyse in 2000 as Chief Information Officer. Mr. Lacy previously served in technical leadership roles at SpectraLogic and HBO & Company (now McKesson). In addition, he served as Vice President for CareCentric Solutions, a software company providing support services to the home health services industry.
A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Mr. Lacy holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering and an M.S. degree in Business and Health Care Administration from Georgia Institute of Technology.
James Matas
Chief Financial Officer, Secretary
As Chief Financial Officer, James Matas oversees finance, tax, legal, investor relations, banking, contracts, and M&A. He deals extensively with shareholders, clients, business partners and management on a variety of matters and works closely with operating management to drive business growth and establish strategic direction.
Mr. Matas brings more than 30 years of financial management experience, primarily in the health care industry. Prior to joining Precyse, he was Chief Financial Officer at Investor Force, a technology firm servicing institutional investment consultants. He also served as International CFO at IMS Health, a global company providing market research to pharmaceutical companies and as controller at Foster Medical Corporation, a company providing durable medical equipment to patients.
Mr. Matas earned a B.S. degree in accounting from Penn State and received his M.B.A. degree with a concentration in pharmaceutical marketing from St. Joseph's University. A certified public accountant, he is a member of AICPA and PICPA, and is a Series 24 Registered Securities Principal.
