Charge Capture Best Practices chronicled the transition by Children's Health to a new charge capture process with electronic review of all itemized bills prior to claim generation, providing a comprehensive list of potential missed charges, overcharges and coding errors. Presenters Brenda Urbanczyk, manager, Revenue Integrity at Children's Health; and, Rebecca Haworth-Campbell, senior director, Charge Capture Consulting at MedAssets-Precyse, provided insight on how to look for missing charges and outlined steps Children's Health took to successfully recapture $1-2 million annually.
Charge Integrity Solutions Update featured an update on MedAssets-Precyse solution capabilities and benefits by Kevin Smith, MedAssets-Precyse vice president, Product Management, CT PM Management; and Rebecca Marsh, MBA, CPC, CHC, MedAssets-Precyse vice president, Revenue Cycle Advisory Solutions, CCA Consulting. The session covered the importance of ensuring that your organization has an accurate, up-to-date, compliant charge description master (CDM) to mitigate the potential for lost revenue. Speakers highlighted the importance of integrating technology with best practice operations to yield the highest level of results.
